Forthcoming Book: "Ice Vegas" by Niven and Barnes

We in the Grand Admiral's office are extremely excited by the forthcoming release of the latest book by arguable the world's greatest living science fiction writer, Larry Niven, and one of his long-standing co-authors, Stephen Barnes. 

"Ice Vegas" is being released as an ebook and audiobook on 14th July. 






















The pro-publication blurb reads as follows:

Larry Niven, Steven Barnes and their sadly now deceased co-author. the late, great and deeply missed Jerry Pournelle, have produced some great work in the passt, exploring some of the themes likely to appear in "Ice Vegas" and we can recommend the "Deam Park" novels and "Oath of Fealty."

The latter, "Oath of Fealty," foreshadowed the real-life Darwin awards when a character refers to people getting themselves killed with an act of truly monumental stupidity with the memorable phrase,  "Think of it as evolution in action."

We look forward to seeing of there are any equally memorable phrases in this one.

Darth Vader's caption challenge

 "Star Wars Daily" posted this image from "A New Hope" today on X and asked " What is Darth Vader saying? " The majority of replies came from boring pedants who insisted on giving the correct answer, which is " You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor! Take her away. " However, there were a fair number of replies from people who, realising that this is a father pointing a finger at his 19-year-old daughter even if neither of them, nor anyone watching that film when it first came out, actually knew that, could not resist suggesting some more imaginative dialogue. Can anyone here suggest anything more amusing than the actual line in the film?
