Thrawn's assessment of Endor

This is another "Chris Talks" fan fiction video, set in the "Heir to the empire" legends timeline (not the Disney Canon.)

Grand Admiral Thrawn takes Captain Pellaeon and Colonel Phenir to the site of the Shield Generator at Endor, nine years after the battle at which the Emperor and Darth Vader died.

In this timeline Thrawn himself had been sent to the Unknown Regions by the Emperor at the time of the battle of Endor rather than being rather than trapped in another galaxy having been carried there by space whales.

The interesting thing about Thrawn's analysis of what went wrong for the Empire in a version with no Operation Cinder is that he produces very well argued evidence which strongly points towards the conclusion that the version of Emperor Palpatine in that universe was nearly as destructive in his attitude to what should happen to his own supporters after his death, as the Emperor who DID order operation Cinder was in the Disney Canon timeline.

In this timeline it was Captain Pellaeon who had given the Imperial Fleet the order to withdraw from Endor after the loss of the Emperor, Darth Vader, and the Fleet command ship had left the imperial side with no effective chain of command.

Thrawn concludes by telling Pellaeon that his order to withdraw had been "the only order given that day by a man who meant the Empire to be there in the morning."
